Mexico City, Sep 17 (EFE).- Mexican President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Tuesday that the renewal of the Judiciary will begin in October, once she takes office. From 2025 onwards there will be popular elections for judges and the Supreme Court.

STATEMENTS BY THE PRESIDENT-ELECT OF MEXICO, CLAUDIA SHEINBAUM:

In October, the process for the renewal of the Judicial Branch will begin, because that is what the constitutional reform states. Then, the process will start and the Executive Branch will have to accompany it because there will be calls for elections. The Senate has to issue its first call for elections in October and from then on, whatever President and the Cabinet have to do, we will have to develop it, but there is no tension.

Of course I do not agree that it should be done in that way... as it was done: breaking glass. Our movement has always been peaceful... so there is opposition, but that does not mean that there is tension.
