Philippines grants subsidy to drivers hit by rising fuel costs

QUEZON CITY, Apr 14 (EFE/EPA).— Public transport drivers queued on Tuesday in Metro Manila to receive government subsidies amid rising fuel costs.

The assistance, amounting to 5,000 Philippine pesos, aims to support drivers affected by declining income due to higher fuel prices linked to global tensions.

Authorities said the programme is part of efforts to cushion the impact of the Middle East conflict on the transport sector. (Camera: ROLEX DELA PENA).
