Mumbai, Sep 17 (EFE/EPA).- Indian devotees on Tuesday worshiped an idol of the elephant-headed Hindu god Lord Ganesha for an immersion into the Arabian Sea as a part of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The idol is meant for the festival Ganesha Chaturthi, a ten-day long event which is celebrated all over India.During the Ganpati festival, which is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesh, idols of the Hindu deity are worshiped at hundreds of pandals or makeshift tents before they are immersed into water bodies.
