Ecuador begins scheduled blackouts amid ongoing energy crisis

Quito, Sep 18 (EFE).- Ecuador was left partially and temporarily in darkness on Wednesday night with the start of a new period of scheduled blackouts due to the ongoing energy crisis caused by severe drought at its main hydroelectric plants, preventing the country from meeting its national electricity demand.
