Santo Domingo, Apr. 8 (EFE).- A one-year-old girl died on Wednesday after a wall of her home collapsed on her in western Santo Domingo amid torrential rains brought by a trough affecting much of the country, where severe flooding and extensive property damage were also reported, according to a preliminary assessment of the situation.

The worst damage has occurred in Greater Santo Domingo, including the National District, summarized the country’s president, Luis Abinader, at a press conference alongside the director of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), Juan Manuel Méndez.
