Civil Guard dismantled three clandestine cosmetic clinics in Spain

Barcelona, Spain, Apr 15 (EFE).- The Civil Guard has dismantled three clandestine cosmetic clinics located in homes in the provinces of Tarragona, Valencia, and Alicante that offered Botox (botulinum toxin) treatments without health guarantees or professional qualifications, starting at 150 euros, well below the 600 euros these procedures cost in the regulated market.

In the operation, in which one person has been arrested so far and three others are under investigation, a storage facility in Alicante that distributed drugs exempt from medical supervision to Spain, Lithuania, and the United Kingdom was also dismantled, in addition to seizing 1,248 vials of Botox and 382 syringes of hyaluronic acid, Civil Guard officials said on Wednesday at a press conference to outline the results of the operation ‘Zlata’.
