Cantabrian hospital provides training for caregivers of acquired brain injury patients

Santander, Spain, Apr 15 (EFE).- Acquired brain injury strikes without warning and changes the lives of patients and those around them in a matter of seconds. In light of this reality, the Marqués de Valdecilla Hospital in Cantabria, Spain, has established a school to guide, educate, and support families and caregivers from the earliest stages of rehabilitation.

At the School for Families and Caregivers of Patients with Acquired Brain Injury, every Wednesday, in a calmer setting, using accessible language and away from the hustle and bustle of the hospital, professionals explain to family members and caregivers what has happened, what may happen, and how to respond.
