BEIJING, Apr 14 (EFE).— Spain and China signed on Tuesday an agreement to elevate their bilateral ties to the highest level of dialogue during Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s visit to Beijing.

The two sides also signed around 15 additional accords, including measures to facilitate exports of Spanish agri-food products such as pistachios, dried figs and pork protein.

Both governments stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation amid global uncertainty, highlighting the role of closer relations in trade, infrastructure and international dialogue. (Camera: HANDOUT).

TRANSLATION: I am delighted to meet Mr Sánchez again. This is his fourth visit to China in four years. At a time when the world is in turmoil, and the international order is in crisis, the way a country treats international law and order reflects its worldview, its values, its conception of order and its sense of responsibility. Both China and Spain are principled nations that uphold justice and are willing to stand on the right side of history. We must strengthen communication, consolidate mutual trust, and deepen cooperation. Together we must oppose any return to the law of the jungle, jointly safeguard true multilateralism and protect world peace and development.
