Tokyo, Apr 17 (EFE).- With recruitment at historic lows, activities increasingly restricted by law and new internet-based criminal networks rising to take their place, Japan's Yakuza appears to be living out its final days.

"I think they are not dead. They're not dead. They are moribund," sociologist Martina Baradel, an associate professor at Nagoya University who has built her career studying Japan's traditional crime families, told EFE. (Camera: JORGE DASTIS/ PILAR BERNAL ZAMORA).
