Spain’s Adif reinforces Barcelona rail control center to prevent disruptions

Barcelona, Spain, Apr 18 (EFE).- Spain’s rail infrastructure manager Adif has reinforced staffing at the Barcelona Rail Traffic Control Center following a January software failure that paralyzed the Rodalies commuter network, aiming to prevent a repeat incident amid an unprecedented period of infrastructure works.

The control center oversees around 900 kilometers of track and up to 114 stations across Catalonia, with more than 20 professionals per shift managing train traffic.
