Rescue service saves sixth boat with 48 migrants off Spain's Fuerteventura

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Sep 21 (EFE).- Maritime Rescue has rescued 48 occupants from a new boat that arrived near the Canary Islands, Spain, on Saturday afternoon, the sixth since Friday night, this time near Fuerteventura.

According to data provided by the emergency response team upon arrival at Puerto del Rosario, the boat carried a total of 48 migrants, including 37 men, nine women, and two children.

A Maritime Rescue plane spotted the boat during the morning, prompting the state agency to mobilize the guardamar TalĂ­a, which located the vessel and proceeded to rescue its occupants, arriving at the port of the capital about 4:15 PM (local time). (Camera: CARLOS DE SAS).
