Pope Leo visits Cameroon's Bamenda, epicenter of forgotten conflict

Bamenda, Cameroon, Apr 16 (EFE).- Pope Leo traveled to Bamenda, in northwestern Cameroon—the epicenter of one of the world’s forgotten conflicts—to listen to the voices of those suffering. This conflict has now lasted a decade and has claimed thousands of lives and displaced half a million people.

The Anglophone separatists announced a truce for the occasion of Pope Leo XIV’s visit, but fighting will resume starting tomorrow.
