Ponomariov and Sharifov lead the Menorca Chess Master and Open

Mahón, Apr. 11 (EFE).- Former world champion Ruslan Ponomariov has defeated reigning world champion Gukesh Dommaraju and has taken the lead in the Menorca Chess Master, tied at 4.5 points with Nihal Sarin, who drew with Leinier Domínguez.

Dommaraju is third with 3.5 points, followed by Hungary’s Richard Rapport and India’s Pentala Harikrishna with 3 points each, while Domínguez brings up the rear with just 2.5 points.
