Paris, Apr 15 (EFE).- "If a coin has two sides, money has many more." This is how the Paris Mint, known as the 'Monnaie', introduces its exhibition dedicated to the representation of money in the great comics of Franco-Belgian and American comics.CAMERA: POL LLOBERASSTATEMENTS BY CO-CURATOR OF THE EXHIBITION LUCAS HUREAU TRANSLATION:1. "We asked ourselves questions about treasure (in comics) and saw that there were marginalized people who had no money and multimillionaires..."2. "...we had a whole theme surrounding counterfeit currency; we had alchemy, because you need a Smurf to make the philosopher's stone..."3. "It's something we find throughout the history of comics, and it's true that if we took a look at the 'Mortadelo and Filemón' comics, for example, we would find a huge number of tropes surrounding money."4. "For Americans, we have the works of Will Eisner, author of 'Spirit,' as well as the works of Karl Barks on Scrooge McDuck, and Doña Rosa, on the same character." 5. "For Europeans, we have the leading figures of Franco-Belgian comics, such as Hergé—creator of Tintin—or Uderzo and, of course, 'Asterix'."6. "We didn't really want to just show original drawing plates."7. "This is an exhibition that we wanted to be both very accessible and very specialized; that is, comic book fans will feel right at home, historians too, but all audiences will be able to enjoy it, especially younger people, who will find some of their favorite stories, like 'The Smurfs' or 'Asterix'."
