Myanmar celebrates Thingyan water festival in Yangon
Yangon, Myanmar, Apr 13 (EFE/EPA).- Residents of Yangon began celebrating the annual water festival, known as Thingyan, on Monday, a multi-day event marked by water splashing to symbolize the cleansing of sins.During the celebrations, large groups gather in the streets to splash water and sometimes apply powders or thanaka paste as part of the tradition.
