Muslims mark last Friday of Ramadan with prayers in Srinagar

Srinagar, India, Mar 20 (EFE/EPA).- Muslims offered prayers on roadsides in Srinagar on Friday, marking the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, is set to begin in Kashmir on March 21 and is celebrated during the first days of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar, with communal prayers and gatherings worldwide.

The festival lasts three days and is determined by the sighting of the moon, meaning its start may vary between countries. (Camera: FAROOQ KHAN).
