INDIA EID-E-MILAD-U-NABI

Muslims gather in India's Kashmir for Eid-e-Milad-u-Nabi prayers

Srinagar, India, Sep 17 (EFE/EPA).- Hundreds of devout Muslims gathered on Tuesday at the Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian Kashmir, to celebrate Eid-e-Milad-u-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (BPD).

The Hazratbal shrine, which houses a relic believed to be a hair from Prophet Muhammad's beard, was the centre of the celebrations.

The annual gathering at the Hazratbal shrine is one of the most important religious events in Indian Kashmir. It attracts large crowds who come to pay their respects and seek blessings on this sacred occasion. (Camera: FAROOQ KHAN).
