Madrid, Apr. 12 (EFE).- Dozens of people gathered this Sunday at the 12 de Octubre Hospital in the capital to protest against the privatization of public healthcare and, specifically, of services at this hospital such as “warehousing, part of maintenance, and, especially, the sterilization of surgical equipment.”The protesters, organized by the group “Neighbors of Madrid’s Neighborhoods and Towns” (VVByP), complained that the new 12 de Octubre building “lacks a morgue” and patient care space, forcing them to “transfer the deceased and their families to other buildings.”They also asserted that there are cancer patients who “must be transported by ambulance outside the facility” and that “fire doors, carts, and chairs have serious deficiencies.”CAMERA: JUAN YAGÜE AND ÁNGEL HERRERA.FOOTAGE: INCLUDES SCENES FROM THE PROTEST OUTSIDE THE 12 DE OCTUBRE HOSPITAL.
