Paris, Apr 14 (EFE).- A collection of unpublished works by the eclectic French painter Pierre Bonnard (1889-1947), which includes 60 lots of lithographs, paintings and drawings, was sold this Tuesday in Paris for more than three million euros.CAMERA: POL LLOBERAS CARDONASTATEMENTS FROM THE DIRECTOR OF THE MODERN ART DEPARTMENT AT CHRISTIE'S PARIS AND IN CHARGE OF THE SALE, VALÉRIE DIDIER: 1. “Pierre Bonnard is one of the great artists of the 20th century, best known for his Nabi period.”2. “There are a few works, three or four, that have been exhibited or loaned to a couple of museums for exhibitions, but otherwise, most of the works are genuine discoveries, both for art historians and museum curators.”3. “They are, above all, stories about Bonnard that truly cover the entire panorama of his work, both technically and thematically.”4. “In art history, we love to use ‘isms’: Futurism, Cubism, Fauvism… Bonnard is all of them. So he also has his own style and his own vocabulary: he truly has his own identity. He touched on a bit of everything, and that’s why people are a little lost when it comes to placing him.”
