Hiroshima and Nagasaki mayors meet Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi
TOKYO (Japan), 09/04/2026.- Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi (C) receives a written request from Kazumi Matsui (L), mayor of Hiroshima, and Shiro Suzuki (R), mayor of Nagasaki, at the Prime Minister's office in Tokyo, Japan, 09 April 2026. The two mayors requested that the Japanese government participate as an observer in the first Review Conference of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) to be held in late November at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
