French lawyers protest against proposed plea-bargain changes
Montpellier (France), 13/04/2026.- Lawyers from the Montpellier Bar Association attend a protest called 'justice morte' (dead justice) day, in Montpellier, Southern France, 13 April 2026. French bar associations called for a day of protest against the proposed bill 'loi SURE' (an acronym for 'Useful, Rapid and Effective Sanctions') which would change plea-bargain usage in criminal cases.
