The management of the National Park has alerted about the high level of contamination of the waters in this natural environment. The World Wetlands Day is held every year on 02 February since the signing of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, in which Spain was included in 1982 in order to guarantee the protection of 68 areas of a total of 285,000 hectares.
